Please join the King County Youth Marijuana Prevention and Education Program for an interactive workshop about applying equity principles to youth marijuana prevention work.

Registration will close on Thursday, September 28. Note that lunch is provided so be sure to register so we have an accurate count for food.

Workshop goals:
• Introduce the concepts of health equity and social determinants of health and start to develop a common language for equity and inclusion.
• Explore how to apply an equity lens in youth marijuana prevention program planning and implementation.
• Describe the roles of privilege, oppression, prejudice and power in systems and institutions, particularly as it relates to marijuana.

Brief agenda:
• Welcome, introduction and ground rules; introductory remarks by Dr. Marguerite Ro, Public Health
• Equity 101: definitions, theory of change, why and how King County leads with equity
• How data shapes our understanding of equity
• How can we do marijuana prevention/education to lead toward health equity?
• Case studies
• Reflections and closing
